Do Indians require a Visa to travel to Thailand?
Yes, Indians do require a visa to visit Thailand. The country offers a Visa On Arrival for Indian citizens if the purpose of the visit is tourism. You are allowed to stay up to 30 days but cannot exceed that. Our trip advisor will guide you through the entire process of Visa obtaining the necessary documents required like passport, application and financial proof. Through the E- visa on arrival you can apply online before your trip in advance.
Is Thailand a safe country to travel to?
Thailand is generally a safe country to travel to. While petty crimes like pickpocketing can occur in crowded tourist places, serious crimes are relatively rare in the country. Scams for tourists regarding prices can be common. It is recommended that you always stay aware of your surroundings and avoid unlit areas at night for a safe and enjoyable trip overall.
What is the local currency and how can I exchange money?
The local currency for Thailand is Thai Baht. You can exchange money at banks, exchange counters, and major hotels. ATMs are also widely available. It will be more convenient if you do your exchange of currency after reaching Thailand as it will be less expensive than doing it in your country. Also, you can find a lot of exchange centres in the local area of Thailand at a cheap rate.
Are there any cultural norms and customs that one must know?
There are no specific cultural rules as such for tourists in Thailand, but basic etiquette of respecting local customs such as removing shoes before entering homes, and temples, and dressing modestly when visiting religious sites can be the things you should keep in mind while travelling to Thailand. Also, it is recommended to avoid touching someone’s head or pointing your feet at people or religious objects is considered unacceptable in Thailand.
Are the street foods of Thailand safe to eat?
We all know that street food in Thailand is very popular among tourists and is generally considered safe and delicious to eat. However, it is important to choose from vendors with good hygiene practices and in a sanitized stall. Also, beware of raw ingredients unless you are sure of their cleanliness so you don’t fall sick. We would also recommend being aware of the meat you will be choosing to eat, make sure it is from a clean shop and is still fresh.
